Is homeowners insurance covered by our HOA fees? Empty Is homeowners insurance covered by our HOA fees?

I have condo insurance with Allstate but wondered if it's necessary if our condo fee covers homeowners insurance.

It is my understanding that the HOA insurance only covers the common areas. You need your own insurance to cover the studs inward - i.e. the walls and everything inside. insurance companies are very familiar with this model.
