Garage Door has humming sound and stop working

Hi All, my garage door has humming sound and stop working today. It didn't have smoke come out or burning smell. The brand name is Liftmaster Chamberlain Professional line Model# 1140LM. I missed Tom and another member's free garage door checking couple months. Now we have a new born and garage door is down on weekend is so hard for us. If someone knows what's the problem or had similar problem, please let us know, we really appreciate it.

If you have the original garage door opener, the chain may have stretched to the point that it slipped off the gear. Don't keep trying to open it, you may strip the gear, which is plastic. You'll need to open up the garage door opener and check it to confirm.

Check the spring to see if it is snapped. Usually the spring lasts only about 10 years.
