Garbage issue Empty Garbage issue

We are still waiting on the new recycle bins from the Green Team. Our suggestion for residents is if the recycle bins are full throw all other recycle items into the large green bins. They still get sorted for recyclables.

thank you.

We were expecting the new bins this week, but they have not arrived. Peachtree is following up on the status with the vendor (Green team). Mad

Looks like some of the new bins arrived. We're still not at 100% compared to before, but it looks like we have 4 blue bins per enclosure.

Garbage issue Empty Education

Post  Claudia Mon Apr 28, 2008 3:17 pm

Very Happy We have four blue bins on Milan Dr. now. Thanks!

Sad One of our neighbors moved away yesterday leaving behind an incommensurable amount of junk in and out of the green bins.

I think a lot of what happens with how we deal with garbage/recycling in our complex -and elsewhere, for that matter, is due to ignorance. I checked the city's site and they have a recycling guide. It can be ordered online individually, but maybe there's a way to order it for the whole complex? Maybe hand them at the board meeting or door to door (I can help with that and enlist my kids to help too Wink )

Also, renewing the refusing guidelines that used to be in the collection sites, could be useful as reminders. I thought about making one one for our collection site, but I am not sure what the posting rules are for the complex.

Just a few thoughts.

thanks Claudia!

I think you are right about the education aspect and people not knowing and/or choosing not to care.

Peachtree (our management company) will post new flyers at the enclosures, hopefully next week.

Is there a url that we can link to the recycle guide?

recycle guide link

Some good info. It also describes the process for how to deal with additional garbage, although I'm not sure if it applies to us as a complex. But it basically says that an individual must place the items in a plastic bag and buy a special sticker at a cost of $6.95 per sticker and place it next to the rest of the garbage. Again, I'm not sure if this really applies to us.
