Speed Limit & Speeders
Hello All,
I know speeding in the complex has been an on-going issue. To paraphrase a familiar quote, I am mad as hell and I aint taking anymore. Earlier tonight while walking my dog a woman in a new silver BMW convertible was driving recklessly fast. She was making the corner from Milan to Navaro and had no regard for two of us that were walking our dogs around 8:30 pm. We waved our arms at her and I motioned her to slow down and she just kept on driving. I yelled slow down, I then yelled stop as she passed very close to us as she "sped" away. No license plate number as this was a brand new car.
Something has to be done before someone, a pet, or a child is seriously injured or killed. There are many residents who speed and do not stop at the stop sign or do both. I suggest we all do our part to identify these speeders and get there license plate number so they can be reported to the police.
I am certain these speeders are very often the same people that speed on Village Center and do not stop at the stop sign at both River Oaks and Research when making a right turn. I walk alone and with my dog several times a day
sometimes as many as four or five times a day and have witnessed countless speeders within our complex and on Village Center at virtually any hour.
I know that these speeders are habitual speeders and driving at reckless speeds. I have seen them every day and getting to recognize their cars. If drivers do not stop at the stop sign in our complex or the ones on Village Center every day then the odds are they aren't stopping at a lot of stop signs while they drive. If they speed in an area that common sense would tell you not to speed (15 mph posted on Village Center and 8 mph here at Villagio) they are speeders where ever they drive. They are not going to do it here!!!
I and a neighbor have been in a few near misses in both locations. Tonight was another very stressful experience.
I will now walk with pen and pad and get as much info as I can and hopefully a license plate number. I shall be relentless in this endeavor and ask all concerned members of our community to do the same. We need to put an end to this!

Re: Speed Limit & Speeders
Hi,
I totally agree with Trebor that we can do our part to identify those drivers who think they are in "speedo pants".
It also happened to me once that a RAV4 came from Milan turning to Navaro without any slowing down. We have done our part trying to remind people with the speed limit sign up and the news letter from HOA. I truly believe now it's time to find out who those reckless drivers are and to fine them if they keep not respecting other people and cause our neighborhood in danger.

speeders
This morning a woman in a silver range rover came speeding up to the entrance when my dog and I were crossing she came incredibly close to hitting us. When I yelled at her to slow down she started laughing at me.
We have a couple in our courtyard who drive like maniacs to get to there garage. I have yelled at them as well. Needless to say they could care a less. However, they just had a child so maybe their tune will change. Doubtful but possible.
I am going to follow Roberts lead and start taking down plates. This is totally ridiculous!!!

I'm not sure police would help since you have entered a complex, kind of like being at the grocery store parking lot, it becomes a free for all. People are going to be who they are. I feel I just have to watch out for myself whether I'm in my car or walking just as I do anywhere. Sad to say, but many people just don't care about anyone but themselves. I try hard to ignore them.

Can we place more speed bumps at strategic locations? This would raise havoc on their suspensions if they speed.
