Can we talk?

I am trying to figure out who is still visiting this site and if there is still an interest in communicating through this forum. I, for one, would like to keep communicating with one another and talk about some of the changes that have been happening in our community. While walking in the neighborhood, I've had the opportunity to talk with other people living in Villagio and it seems to me that a lot of people are really unhappy with the changes that have been going over the past year and a half.

We used to talk to one another on this forum about all sorts of things and it used to be quite lively. We talked about landscaping, paint colors, decks, plants, parking and contractors, etc. We were able to talk about these things and have an influence on the way that Villagio looked and was run. Tom, the moderator here, was also on the board and was voice for us at the HOA meetings. We didn't always agree on everything, but at least we felt like we were being heard and was part of a community.

I would like for us to start talking again about the concerns we have so that Villagio is a place that we enjoy. So let me know what you think. If you do want to talk, but you don't want to do it here on the forum publicly, you can private message me and I'll send you my email.

we have notice this forum doesn't act as active as it used to be... and we've been travel in between this forum and Compass site to leave messages..

I still try to check this site and post things I learn. Do you think putting flyers up would do anything? There has been some turn over in home owners. Or have Compass mention it in their monthly newsletter?

Compass will not mention this in the newsletters. I asked a while ago and invited them to join, but they said they were not interested and didn't want to have anything to do with this site. I got the distinct feeling that they don't actually want us talking to each other. I feel like, the less we talk to one another, the more control it gives them, so they do not want us to interact with each other through this site.

We do have a lot of new residents. We could put up a new flyer. Tom has said in the past that he still follows this board, so hopefully he would add anybody who requested to join.

The lack of communication bothers me as well. When I moved here almost 10 years ago there was an active Yahoo Group and this forum replaced that at some time. When Tom moved out this forum lost its main sponsor and became pretty inactive.

I'm shared my view with Compass (per email) already that I feel there is a need for a forum so we can communicate. The lack of activities on this forum also have to do that many new community members are not aware of this forum.

I've thought with the idea to volunteer to keep this forum up and running but lack of time is one big concern. I also feel that there is a need for direct connection to the board and the management company because many questions will be of the kind that only the board can answer. Tom did a great job in the past on this. Again because of lack of time I can't commit to become a board member either, even thought I've thought about it many times.
