Pest/ insects/ in family room
Hi
I live in one of the 3 bed room units in bldg 430. For the past couple of weeks i notice an (big fly like) insect(s) in the morning in my family room. Just wondering if this is happening ot others also. I am looking at if i need pest ocntrol for that and if so what is recommended here by the members in the forum, based on expereincei n villagio.
thanks

Re: Pest/ insects/ in family room
The HOA has or maybe had an exterminator spray the grounds around buildings on a monthly basis. He is very familiar with Villagio and might know something about any infestations. Call Tony at peachtree and get the referral.
winged Termites in family room/closet
Hi,
I live in bldg 430 in one of the corner units. As i stated earlier, i saw insects/pests and it has been confirmed that this is a winged termite. I reached out to tony @ peach tree who gave me the name of bug busters as the company in san jose, and harold from bug busters came in thsi morning and identified this as a winged termite. I had captured couple of them in a plastic bottle. However bug busters does nto do the termtie work. I was asked to contact tony again to talk about next steps. I reached out to tony and he asked me for a termite report, and this he said needs to be reviewed by him as well as the board.
I am having terminxi come over this afternoon to inspect and provide me a report (i was told that thsi is free of cost). I wil lthe nshare it with ton yand wait for his/board's next steps.
This tells me that this problem could be more structural and this might not pertain to my unit alone.
What i am asking for feedback from the group here,
1) has anybody gone through this before
2) check your homes for any winged termites also.
Strangely i read in google that a treatment for winged termite/pests lasts for 5 years. I've been in the unit for 4.5 years now and i see that the previous owner did the termite inspection work in spetember 2007 to be precise. Now its september 2012 and voila i have the winged teemites here. Isn't this strange.
Thanks
Suresh
