Hi there,

Few years ago I saw once our dumpster was been power washed or sterilized. and that was it..
I am wondering if we have enough of budget to the the dumpster area wash or sterilize before they get really smelly?

Hi Sandy,

Power washing the dumpster area is not budgeted. What you may have seen last year was an adhoc wash of one dumpster because someone dumped something that spilled and smelled very bad even after the dumpster was emptied.

I think I'd be open to spending money if it was really needed but there are other priorities that we have to do. All these things add up at the end of the year and we've been trying to keep our costs as low as possible not to raise the HOA dues at the end of the year.

Take care,
Tom

Funny you mention this because I have wanted to tell Peachtree that because of the wet weather that there is mold everywhere in all the dumpsters, not to mention paint in one that someone dumped and it leaked (Blue paint)

We gave them a quote of $80 per enclosure. It really needs it, not to mention there is food ground in on the walls and floor from leaking bags.

Please let us know if you would like that taken care of, we will always put Villagio first on our list as you are our top priority!

Power Wash at Dumpster Area Empty Re: Power Wash at Dumpster Area; Recycle Bins Missing

Post  sandieson Thu Jun 30, 2011 9:34 pm

I don't know other dumpster areas; but the one right next to my place had lots of flies at the entry of the dumpster area yesterday. One recycle bin got took out by the side of the street for today's recycle pick up, the rest of the recycle bins were full / half full and smelled... I took those needs to be empty out (total of 5), and water wash the recycle bins area.. at least the dumpster area or where my balcony and living room are not suffer from the trash smells. This morning the recycle truck came by (we heard it, it's right next to our bedroom window); on our way out this morning, there were only 3 recycle bins left on side of the street.

I mean, can anyone solve the mystery of missing recycle bins? As Tom mentioned previously that we don't have enough of budget for power wash the dumpster area, any better suggestion for get rid of the bad trash smell? Please kindly advice..

Power Wash at Dumpster Area Empty Dumpster Areas

Hi Sandie, at your suggestion, the Board has asked Peachtree to obtain bids for periodic power washing of the dumpsters and trash areas. Additionally, we are also looking into enhancing the physical enclosures and perhaps adding some more landscaping to make the areas blend into the grounds. We should be able to move on the power washing in the next couple of weeks. I am also interested in input from other residents concerning this issue. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Jerry

Hi Jerry, While we are at it, could we please also have the roof of the trash areas cleared of items thrown on them ? For instance, there are toys, books (what appear to be telephone directories), etc. on the roof of the physical enclosure of the trash area in the middle of milan dr. Thanks. -G.

We sent Peachtree the bid, but only received permission to clean 2 enclosures.

We most certainly can clear off and remove the debris from on top of the enclosures, we are on-site twice a week already.

As soon as we get a signed bid, we will take care of the garbage enclosures.

Hi ATD, looks like the dumpster areas were power-washed today. However, the debris on top of the enclosures was not cleared. Thanks. -G

Sorry, we were not given permission to clean the tops of the enclosures and without a work order or a signed agreement, but I can try sending them a bid, and see if we can take care of that for you.

Can't hurt to ask right? I will try sending them a bid!
