Cadence Construction Noise
I am fed up listening to the Cadence construction noise. I have to listen to that friggin back-up alarm on their equipment all day. What is really a pain is that they often start earlier than the allowed time of 7:00 a.m. as they did again today. It woke me up from a sound sleep. Just blowing off steam but if someone can suggest who to call maybe we all can call and get more peace and quiet.

Re: CADENCE CONSTRUCTION NOISE
I found this on a City of San Jose website:
Construction Noise
According to San José Municipal Code, the legal hours of construction within 500 feet of a residential unit are limited to the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. This time restriction is limited to construction activity that requires a Development Permit or other Planning approval.
If this ordinance is violated, please call Code Enforcement at (408) 277-4528.
Looks like a good place to start.

Cadence Site Construction Noise
Thanks, for posting the phone number. I will call tomorrow. I am sure the more phone calls they receive the more likely they will do something about the early starts. The backup alarm is due to some safety regulation. My car sounds an alarm once when I put it into reverse. The construction vehicles and equipment continuously alarm while backing up. Probably one of the reason the on site personnel wear ear protection.

Re: Cadence Construction Noise
I've called the number a few weeks ago and also made RONA aware. As you probably know it's 10:29PM and construction is STILL going on. Way past the deadline

Cadence Site Construction Noise
I've just returned from the construction site. According to the foreman they have the City's permission to start early and work late into the evening to pour and monitor the concrete. My bedroom faces River Oaks and they have a blazing flood light and equipment running with their annoying back-up alarm required by OSHA. It appears that all we can do is put up with the noise since the City has given the contractor the OK to work outside of the 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.. In other words, we're screwed!

I don't know what website he was looking at but the correct phone number is 408 535 7770. Selection option "0" for operator and ask for Code Enforcement Officer on Duty. No one is there before 10:00 am

Cadence Construction Noise - River Oaks & Seely
The noise woke me up at 5:00 am this morning but another resident said it started at 4:15 am. Everyone who is fed up with this needs to email Councilmember Chu and notify the Code Enforcement Inspector on duty @ 408-535-7770. As of today it is not clear whether the contractor has a permit to work outside of the 7 am to 7 pm window. If they do I have asked what additional fee was the contractor charged and how is that returned to the community. It is wrong that we have to endure this and residents need to speak up!
