Build 410 main water pipe broken
This was discovered yesterday 2/12 that the main water pipe was broken and leaking. Plumber has been drilling the ground in attempt to fix the leak. BUT.... I have some major concerns here:
1. Who's responsible for the main water pipe?? I heard from neighbors that HOA was picking up the tab for this fix. Shouldn't this be the water company's problem instead of HOA's problem? In another words, shouldn't the water company pay for this problem instead of our HOA?
2. According to the plumber, the pipe that needs to be fixed is 6 feet deep. The plumber has been drilling the concrete all day. The concern: how do we know if the work they're doing and the broken concrete is fixed to standard? Who is there to verify what they've fixed is done properly and to city standards?
3. During the digging, I see reinforced steel bars exposed and dugged up. Wouldn't that hurt the integrity that the original builder put in? Who is able to put that back so that it adhere to city approved standards?
Final question: was the plumber recommended by HOA?

This is the first I hear of this. Please contact Veronica at Peachtree and provide all the information you know and ask your questions. She will be the best person to know.

Re: Build 410 main water pipe broken
I just received notice from Peachtree about the water pipe. Apparently the only way to stop the leak is to shut off the water to the entire building which they didn't want to do yesterday.
So heads up to residents, there may be periods of no water in your building as they try to fix this leak.

Some of us were chatting with the plumber close to Sunday midnight -- they claim that they have it fixed. This morning (2/14) a different crew came out (knowing nothing) came out to clean up the dirt -- they said that someone else is suppose to come and fill the hole properly. *shrug* the giant hole is currently covered by wood boards.

the hole...
say... ever since they fixed the main water pipe, the hole with sand is covered by a wood board. Any updates as to when they're going to fix the concrete they dug up? It's been 2+ weeks since they fixed the main water pipe.

Building 410 , the Hole
When will Peachtree send someone to fix the hole in front of building 410 ??? I really don't want to see someone suing HOA in the end , and no one get re-finance after ...
The hole will cause extra problem, and HOA which mean us (not Peachtree ) need to spend unnecessarily money to fix this issue because of that hole.
I send a lot of e-mail to Peachtree, and they did not response at all.

I'll check with peachtree on where we stand. Keep in mind that if villagio is responsible for the repairs the board needs multiple bids in order to approve the work. Then they are reviewed in a board meeting that happens once a month. So things tend to move slowly.

We are still waiting on additional quotes in order to make decision on who will do the repairs.
