Re: How to use the fireplace?
I hope someone else chimes in because I only used my fireplace once in 8 years.
I think you want to use ceramic logs. There's a lever inside the fireplace to open up the top. Then you use the key to turn on the gas and then you light it.
Can anyone confirm???
I should have a LONG disclaimer here.

Re: How to use the fireplace?
I don’t use my fireplace.
If you plan on using yours, you might want to get the chimney checked to see if it needs to be cleaned, especially if you plan on burning wood.
If you plan on burning wood, do a google search on "creosote build-up danger". I don’t know if this applies to ceramic logs.
Good luck.

Re: How to use the fireplace?
Hi,
I use my fireplace all the time. I used to use duraflame logs but switched a few years back to a gas log set. The Duraflame residue was a bit much. If you are using a duraflame log you do not need the gas key, the duraflame is providing the fire, just light it. Make sure the flu is open. My gas log set is connected into the gas line that the key is connected to. I had a professional gas person install it. Ivan, I live right next door to you, if you want to see my set up let me know.
